Lost clothing started out in 1985 when its founder Matt Biolos and a group of his school friends began creating the Lost clothing line. Matt's friends had been encouraging him for years to put his famous surf board artwork and Lost logo on clothing. By 1992, Matt began putting his art and logo on trunks, shorts, pants, hats, jackets, and outerwear that make up the Lost apparel clothing line.

Lawrence Quigley joined Lost in 1996 and took over design and production. He was responsible for growing the clothing line from 10 pieces to 30 pieces overnight! The Lost clothing company grew so fast that the company moved in and out of two more warehouses where it finally landed at the Irvine Spectrum.
